Orange Shirt Day

On Sept 28 we ask all staff and students to wear orange in support of Orange Shirt day.

Orange shirt day is inspired by Phyllis Jack Webstad’s story of her time in residential school, and September 30th has been declared Orange Shirt Day annually.

This day is to educate  and promote awareness of the harm the Indian Residential school system had on children's identity, sense of self-esteem and well-being. On this day we wear orange to support and help facilitate reconciliation in Canada.
